It was a reliable ride whether it was 2 miles or 12 miles. The midsole was built to last for hundreds of miles. The second standout was down to Brooks’ DNA Loft foam, which creates a much firmer landing than ‘marshmallow softness’ running shoes such as the Hoka Clifton 8. Overall, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 is perfect for those looking for a versatile daily running shoe. Flexible, snug, stable, and durable, it performs superbly for your easy miles, long distances, and fares well on various terrains. DNA Loft cushioning is a staple for the Adrenaline GTS. Now, Brooks extended the soft foam from the heel all the way to the forefoot to maximize cushioning, making each stride buttery smooth. Add in BioMoGo DNA foam to the midsole for heightened responsiveness and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a balanced, smooth ride.

When these arrived I was excited to review them because I have never run in a pair of Adrenalines before. When I opened them up I was immediately impressed. The technology consists of two ‘guide rails’– one on the inside of the foot and one on the outside, both towards the heel. One aspect of the shoe I liked was the width. It isn’t a tailored fit but it gives your feet room to feel and splay out naturally. This natural feeling is extended to the engineered mesh because of its flexibility. This model is one of Brooks’ medium cushion,stability shoes. While not made for speedy sprints, the stability and responsivity mean the Adrenaline 21 is built to withstand countless miles, including your everyday runs and training for marathons.

We’re coming to the end of our Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 review – so, what are the key takeaways, and who should/shouldn’t buy them? Having been in the shoe game for over two decades, Brooks is amongst both the oldest and most successful running shoe companies globally. Their specialty is producing durable, everyday trainers with their innovative technology and specialized cushioning. Consider coming into a store and doing a video gait analysis. Gait analysis monitors your body’s movement and your feet (sports biomechanics) whilst running. It’s commonly used to help athletes run more efficiently and to identify movement related problems for people with injuries who are seeking new running shoes. I knew from experience Brooks trainers take a little longer to break-in. The drop was also evident, it is a 12mm drop in both the mens and womens. An impatient runner may give up on them before they are ready. That would be a real shame, because once they are broken in, they are a dream in which to run.
