About this deal

The all-aluminum chassis has ridges to help with heat dissipation and it comes with both a thermal pad you can put on top of your SSD to keep it cool under prolonged loads. It’s a rather attractive silver enclosure that has a small cutout / handle area you can use for threading through a carabiner. And about as subtle as one, too. The RGB on the Spectrix S40G is no joke, shining bigger and brighter than any other RGB-enabled drive we've seen. Not to suggest we've see that many, though; as an RGB NVMe SSD, the Spectrix S40G enters a select club of components. With a capacity of 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB, you should have no problems fitting your OS, software, as well as a few games depending on what capacity you select. It supports both TRIM and S.M.A.R.T. technologies too.

The capacity is 256GB, which should fit your OS, your most commonly used software, as well as a few games. You can also get the 500GB version of this RGB SSD if you require a larger capacity. We compared the Spectrix to a tough bank of competition: drives like the competing ADATA SX8200 Pro, the Mushkin Pilot-E, the Seagate FireCuda 510, and the WD Blue SN550. (We're in the process of reviewing the last one.) PCMark 8 Storage When gamer is installing a non-RGB motherboard, it can be presented through the included USB 2.0 9pin connector. T Force RGB SSD is manufactured by TeamGroup. It provides 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB all three capacity choices for users to choose from. This TForce SSD should be connected to the motherboard by a 5V ADD header for proper usage. The innovation that capitalizes on the Xbox’s storage will discover its direction onto our systems soon. What that implies, is storage is going to get significantly more significant for gaming PCs. At first glance, a 6% drop in performance compared to other drives might seem significant; however, this benchmark represents the worst-case scenario. Anvil Storage Utility Below is a screenshot of the SSD Toolbox software. This is how the drive comes from the factory, before any formatting or usage. Yet, if you wanted a drive that is viable with incredible administration programming and are already on one of AMD’s new desktop platforms, the tiny by and large speed compromise could make the Seagate FireCuda 520 the right overhaul for you.

Before we bounce into the drive subtleties and afterward the benchmarks, we should speak a digit about PCIe 4.0. Intel is a known brand, and their SSDs are generally reliable, with a strong warranty and good support. However, this drive now falls under the Solidigm umbrella and has been succeeded by the PCIe 4.0 P41 Plus. That drive is DRAM-less and feels more like a side-grade, but has also been priced aggressively. However, if you don’t need the bit of extra bandwidth and would prefer a drive with DRAM, the 670p is a solid choice for a budget PCIe 3.0 SSD, especially for laptops. If you’re just searching for a boot drive, you might pull off just 120GB, yet with the present games, you’ll need more – a solitary game can without much of a stretch arrive at 25GB or more. Which form factor? You have to get an SSD enclosure that matches the physical size of your drive. If you have a 2.5-inch hard drive or SSD, get a 2.5-inch SATA enclosure. For a 3.5-inch hard drive, you’ll need a 3.5-inch SATA enclosure. M.2 SSDs require M.2 enclosures, but be careful if your SSD is shorter than the standard 2280 (80mm size); most but not all enclosures have mounting screws for the shorter sizes. Also, if you plan to use an M.2 SATA SSD, as opposed to an NVMe one, make sure that the enclosure supports that standard instead (or in addition), because most M.2 enclosures are NVMe only. With a 2.5” SATA III form factor and 3D NAND flash, the T-Force Delta S is an interesting RGB SSD. The speed tops out at 560 MB/s, which is fairly fast, but still much slower than other NVMe M.2 competitors. However, if you’re coming from a traditional hard drive, this won’t be an issue for you. There’s also support for S.M.A.R.T. device monitoring, as well as TRIM, so performance and durability should be good. The first PCI Express 5.0 M.2 SSDs have just hit the market, and although they've achieved blistering speeds in our testing and produced excellent results in the 3DMark Storage gaming-centric benchmark, to use one at the speeds they are intended, you pretty much have to build a whole new rig with the latest parts around it. They require heavy-duty heatsinks, and it may be a long time (if ever) until we see one that's usable in a laptop. Soon, we hope to add PCIe 5.0 (aka Gen 5) SSDs to our list of favorites, but they are just emerging now. With the SATA III 6Gbps interface, the maximum read speed is up to 560MB/s and it provides 1TB of high capacity for gaming fanatics to choose from.

For this review, two sets of power measurements are reported for the Fury RGB: the total power draw across both 5V and 12V rails with the LEDs illuminated in their default red color, and the power on just the 5V rail. These two sets of measurements come from the same test runs, so there's only one set of performance numbers. At full brightness, the red LEDs draw about 2.24 W when powered by the SATA power connecter, and this is enough to keep the drive rather warm even when it is idle. With all three color channels illuminated, LED power consumption exceeds 4W but we did not leave it connected to the multimeter long enough for the drive to reach an equilibrium temperature and power draw. (I didn't want to burn out the breadboard I was using to wire things up.)This implies that if your motherboard doesn’t uphold a specific form factor, you can’t add that sort of SSD to your system. There’s NVMe, which comes in either a PCIe or the best RGB SSD M.2 form factor, and there are SATA drives. Using the SATA III 6Gbps interface, T-Force Delta RGB SSD’s read speed can reach up to 560 MB/s. adopting the industry-standard 2.5” form factor with only 9.5mm in height, it is suitable for gaming laptop or desktop, and the upgrade can be done easily.
