About this deal

It features Wargasm ’s Milkie Way, who trades vocal lines with Alex Westaway throughout to electrifying effect. At over an hour, Gunship are asking for a lot of your time with Unicorn , especially when its second half is truly trounced by its exemplary first half. While in some cases this could be seen as a negative thing, for Unicorn and GUNSHIP in general this certainly works. Rather than look over a barren wasteland of the future this is an anthem of survival and perseverance that is impossible not to sing along with.

GUNSHIP is an entity that has, since the first moment that I heard them, continually captured my imagination through their songs, aesthetic, and ability to be unique amidst a host of synthwave acts that rely too heavily on a single aspect of this burgeoning scene. The 'Product' page will show the most up to date info we have with regards to the item and its release date, but this information is subject to change so check in with us if you have any questions. Lost Shadow’ and closer ‘Postcard From the American Dream’ are arguably the worst for this, two ballads packed next to each other at the tail end that, instead of closing things with a bang, mean it’s more of a whimper. And with half a decade now to process that, you’d think that Unicorn might seek to redress the balance.Due to inventory and accounting purposes, we do not exchange items received for different items than originally purchased. It doesn’t matter how airtight your stylistic recreations are, or how many big-name guests you can bring onboard; without the songs to keep it all steady, you’re just going to sink. It’s the thing that’s always made Gunship felt like such a sterile product, an act built on the presence of references than any greater application of them. Weaponized Love” feels like their love letter to Nine Inch Nails with its lusty lyrics and beats and “Holographic Heart” – which features Britta Phillips – is pure Madonna worship in the best way.

My favorites right now are Tech Noir II (a more upbeat sequel to the original), Empress Of The Damned (there's a lot going on in this song and it has a lot of energy and attitude) and Ghost (the music video is absolutely hypnotizing). The songs are great and varied but all with that GUNSHIP vibe, which blends so well with this album. It’s not even worth singling out individual tracks for the most part, either; there’s barely anything to single out! What’s most telling, though, is how, regardless of that reach or the budget they’ve got or the big names they’ll align themselves with, Gunship never cease to be utterly forgettable. Tastes Like Venom” is a pleasant slice of debauchery and the resulting steam from two opposites attracting while being bolstered by an incredibly catchy chorus, snappy beats, and tempo changes that enhance the song’s dynamics: especially that final half-time chorus. It’s one of the reasons why Unicorn’s last leg is such a drag, where Westaway’s use as a functional mouthpiece just doesn’t gel with the overall intentions.

Two years later we made the move to our present address, 35 The Headrow, where we have remained ever since. HAHAHA, how much nonsense I’ve read today, in fact, I didn’t even get halfway through your text, you didn’t use a single valid argument, just spewed your personal taste, terrible review.Named after the international icon of fantasy and imagination, UNICORN is emblazoned with the tagline "Imagination Is A Weapon". In the last eight years, they’ve released just two albums to date, Unicorn marking their third album and, unsurprisingly, it’s just as jam-packed with features from across the musical spectrum as ever. It makes a strong start with ‘Monster In Paradise’, a cinematic sprawl of pounding 80s pop beats and melodies. Here, you’ve got John Carpenter, Tim Cappello, Tyler Bates and Carpenter Brut, the appearance of all of whom feel like a roundabout way of Gunship legitimising what they’re doing without the need to stake much of a claim themselves. The saxophone work by Tim Capello is stunning with collaboration also with the legendary John Carpenter.
