In most people Benadryl Allergy Relief does not cause drowsiness. However, there are rare exceptions and you should take care when you use this product for the first time. If this product makes you feel drowsy, do not drive or operate machinery. Benadryl Allergy Relief should not be taken whilst under the influence of alcohol. Benadryl is used to treat sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, hives, skin rash, itching, and other cold or allergy symptoms. Women who are pregnant. If you suffer with allergies during pregnancy you should get advice from your doctor on how to treat your symptoms, because locally acting medicines like nasal sprays are usually preferred. Cetirizine can be used if necessary, but only if the benefits outweigh any risks and only if it's prescribed by your doctor. Clinical studies have shown that cetirizine at the recommended dosage has minor adverse effects on the CNS, including somnolence, fatigue, dizziness and headache. In some cases, paradoxical CNS stimulation has been reported. Benadryl may cause blurred vision and may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert and able to see clearly.

Antihistamines may oppose the effect of histamine (used to treat leukaemia) and are not recommended for people having this treatment. Antihistamines may also oppose the effect of betahistine (used to treat Ménière's disease) so this medicine is probably best avoided if you're taking betahistine. Seek advice before using if you are breast feeding, pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suffer from allergies.Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with cetirizine. Just because a side effect is stated here doesn't mean that all people taking this medicine will experience that or any side effect.
