About this deal

For smaller children, the MF Plus works better, however. The seat’s swing away belly bar makes it easy for your child to climb in and out. The adjustable footrest helps to create a good lying position. The hood can be extended, but is positioned right up on the top of the stroller, where it provides limited sun protection. If you are going to take the MF Plus on a summer holiday, you’ll want to add a sun curtain or a stroller parasol.

The materials are good quality and the City Tour 2 Double boasts a robust metal chassis with sturdy plastic components that feel strong enough to hold two toddlers. The Baby Jogger is made from strong yet lightweight fabrics, which can be detached from the frame for machine-washing.Refer to the care tag on your seat pad and canopy for washing instructions. If in doubt, handwash only. The Baby Jogger® City Tour™ 2 folds up small for big adventures—85% smaller than when it’s unfolded. The City Tour™ 2 is the ultimate stroller for travel, with an ultra-compact, one-step fold, a weight of only 6.5 kg, and an included carry bag. But despite its lightness, the City Tour™ 2 doesn’t skimp on features. Baby rides comfortably with multiple recline positions, adjustable calf support, a UV 50+ canopy, and a comfortable padded seat with added depth. Choose from plenty of add-on accessories (sold separately) to customize the stroller for the comfort and convenience of both parent and child. With the City Tour™ 2, you’re fully equipped to carry on with your day, wherever it may lead you. The maximum weight for travel strollers varies. If you want your slightly heavier child to sit in the stroller on holiday, you should choose a travel stroller with a higher maximum weight. The standard maximum weight is 15 kg, but there are also travel strollers that can hold children weighing 17 kg or even more. Some travel strollers also have divided handles, while others are conventional full handles. A full one is better if you know that you often push the stroller with only one hand. Pushing the Bugaboo Butterfly feels good. It may not roll as easily as the brand’s larger strollers, but in terms of the size of the wheels, you will have to be satisfied. Butterfly is smooth to turn and doesn't feel heavy to push, but it’s not a cobblestone or off-road travel stroller. The leverage in the handle is okay. With older children, you will need to press down a bit more to raise the front wheels. The storage basket is easily accessible and can handle as much as 8 kg. The travel stroller’s handle can't be adjusted in height. It’s also a bit annoying that the hood lies against the handle, and therefore against the hands of the person pushing the stroller. The MF Plus is nice to push in an urban environment, but the stroller is heavy to lift up over kerbs, and if you have long legs it’s too easy to catch the brake as you walk, bringing the stroller to a sudden stop. The basket is spacious, but the soft bottom means it’s easy to push the basket forward so it rubs against the front wheels.

The 15kg maximum limit will last families up to three or four years, but the seats are also deep enough to accommodate taller children. Our tester's eldest particularly liked the adjustable calf rest. Seat pad care: Seat fabric and pads may be machine washed separately in cold water on a delicate cycle. Please refer to the care tag on your seat pad for more detailed washing instructions.

Pros

To test this stroller, we considered a number of different attributes like weight, design, durability, portability, maneuverability, and how easy it is to fold. We tested it alongside competitors in our lab, and used it at-home over the course of three months to gain real-world insight. We first recorded things like weight and measurement, then ran the stroller through a number of tests to determine its overall functionality and performance. This stroller maneuvers exceptionally well across different surfaces, including grass, gravel, and carpet. In fact, our testers gave it a near-perfect 4.8 score for maneuverability. It’s easy to push and feels lightweight when doing so. Our testers barely notice the difference when transitioning from gravel to carpet or hardwood, so it provides a smooth ride with barely any bumps felt in the handle bar. The wheels turn quite well with a tight radius. The foot break is easy to latch and unlatch, providing extra convenience and safety. Being so slimline, the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double has a really compact Z-shape fold, however our tester wasn’t all that impressed. By the end of the week-long testing period, there were no stains left behind and the frame looked as good as new, but the wheels were a bit pitted. We’re not sure if they would last the four years they'd need to. What's it like to look at?

As the pram is suitable for newborns and can hold up to two carrycots, we also tested it with two large bags of sugar in place of a second baby. The weight was evenly distributed across the buggy, even with a changing bag hanging on the handlebar. What about the brakes? Being able to take a travel stroller as carry-on baggage on a plane is a function that many parents find very important. In particular, if you’re going to be making a stopover, it can be useful to have a mobile resting place for your child. However, many strollers are too big for airlines to accept them onboard. The Cybex Libelle is one of the few exceptions. The lightweight frame and compact design means it's about the width of a single buggy so can be used on public transport. What about the seats? The bassinet attaches to the pram with connecters and has been approved for overnight sleeping when removed from the frame. It also comes with a mattress cover. What about the harness? The Baby Jogger City Mini 2 Double is perfect for getting around town with two young children and, measuring a slimline 66.5cm wide, will fit through most doorways. For days when you’re laden down with bags and need to free up some basket space, we found the pram nice and steady with a changing bag on the handlebar. However, this won't work when the seats are reclined. Is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double easy to clean? Harness care: Surface wash with a damp cloth using warm water and mild soap; air dry. Do not machine wash harness or immerse in water, as doing so may weaken the straps. Removing the seat covers was time-consuming and fiddly, but when juice was spilled during testing, it beaded up well and easily wiped away with a damp cloth. Liz found that mud on the frame and seat was just as easy to clean off. The carrycot and mattress covers can also be removed for machine washing.
