About this deal

I liked that even though it had dark themes such as killing and violence, it wasn’t written in a way that made it dark and grim. In a semester-long study of college students, good students could better predict their performance on future exams given feedback about their scores and relative percentile.

This week, I received a physical copy of The Lemon Man by Keith Bruton and I started reading it right away. I loved Patrick's character and being a Dublin girl myself it was great getting a tour of Dublin from the hitman on the bicycle. When the hero Lemon man gets sucked into a portal, he has to team up with different versions of himself to save the Multiverse from the deadly villain Broken hyena after he promised his dead. Chapters each working through his daily todo list made for short, sharp chapters with a really good pacing. Here’s maybe what I liked most about this book: Patrick - main character, paid assassin, and narrator - does not give us his emotions, in his wonderful narrative. The problem is that when people are incompetent, not only do they reach wrong conclusions and make unfortunate choices but, also, they are robbed of the ability to realize their mistakes.

Instead of being confused, perplexed, or thoughtful about their erroneous ways, incompetent people insist that their ways are correct. In one study, they asked undergraduate students a series of questions about grammar, logic, and jokes, and then asked each student to estimate his or her score overall, as well as their relative rank compared to the other students. First, I can say Patrick or better known as The Lemon Man (professionally speaking) is a hitman in Dublin who works for the Bronze Man, and whose life seems pretty much all worked out until his life crosses paths with the baby of one of his victims. The trick is to not be fooled by illusions of superiority and to learn to accurately reevaluate our competence.

The main character ‘The Lemon Man’ is a very likeable character and I enjoyed seeing the care giver side of him while simultaneously out on jobs as a hitman. Let me first start off with this, it's not right that the cast is being bullied online for releasing their film it's just a film that they made so deal with it. Featuring a hitman with heart — not to mention a bike, a man bun, and a baby he found on the job — The Lemon Man is wildly entertaining. Perhaps his commitment, and descriptive completeness in and of itself, when it comes to cooking fancy dinners, tells me he loves it at some level, or why do it.
