About this deal

They come first and it is essential to put the right book into the hands of every child to encourage them to read for pleasure. I still found that Lily annoyed me a little at times, but in the end, she is a child, and children do have a way of believing that they know best and they NEED to do things to help the situations that arise. But they are also flawed, they get scared, they do stupid things, they are real… It is a book filled with puzzles and adventure. The story picked up not long after where the previous book finished and included all of the fabulous goodies from the first tale - but we also got introduced to more! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

We follow Lily, Malkin and Robert as they try to catch a famous criminal in Victorian, steampunk London. I think that for kids who only have one parent, who are in a similar situation, this will be very relatable. We see Robert pining for his da, Lily aching for her mom, we see Lily's papa struggle to protect her against all odds, against her very wishes and we see Lily's conflicting feelings towards this, and all this make us connect to our favourite spunky adventurers more than ever. As usual, poor Malkin is trying in vain to keep the kids from getting into too much trouble but they don't listen and instead they are off on an adventure to London via airship. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! After art college and film school, Peter worked as an animator on commercials, pop videos, and two BAFTA-winning children’s TV shows, and wrote and directed several successful short films. The characters are brilliant and the writing style is wonderful - Peter Bunzl has created a world I don't ever want to leave! With the police baffled by Jack's tricks, it falls to Lily, Robert and Malkin, to thwart his criminal schemes.

I think Lily’s father is too naïve that he thinks he can leave his daughter and his friend alone at home for days at an end and for them not to get up to things that he forbade with only mechanical people around them to tell them no. This time around the author wastes no time in plunging into the adventure- right from Jack's escape to Lily and Robert stumbling across the Moonlocket, things are kept exciting and I was instantly pulled into the story. This brilliant sequel to Cogheart is full of daring, danger and family secrets in a richly imagined world that will sweep you away.Peter grew up in South London in a rambling Victorian house with three cats, two dogs, one sister, an antique-dealer dad and an artist mum. The story is a Victorian era steampunk story that follows two kids Lily and Robert and Malkin (a mechanical fox). Bunzl’s writing is engaging, fun, and will appeal to readers young and old, so if you are a fan of science-fiction and steampunk, you should definitely read this.

A fast paced, non-stop adventure, intended for a younger audience but still able to be enjoyed by adults. Ini buku kedua dari seri Cogheart yang diterjemahkan oleh Penerbit BIP (semoga yang ketiga segera menyusul). And especially the combination of violence, guns, family members, drowning and death is a combination that I don’t think should have happened in this middle grade. In this book, we follow Lily and Robert as they make their way through a steampunk London to catch the escapologist Jack Door while also learning about friendship and family. A prisoner who goes by Jack of Diamonds is on the loose and hunting to find his rare diamond he lost and the moonlocket. The exhilarating second Cogheart Adventure: the bestselling series of fantastical imagination set in a gripping Victorian world, from award-winning Peter Bunzl. He’s been nominated for numerous awards, including: the Carnegie, the Waterstones Book Prize, the Branford Boase and the Books are My Bag Readers Award.

Robert and Lily find themselves caught in his ruthless path as they discover that Robert’s past holds the key to unlocking the necklace’s secrets. As you can see from Tolly’s quote, the story doesn’t only focus on adventure but also on teaching children valuable lessons.
