Reading this made me feel like it was Christmas morning, all jittery and happy. It gave me nostalgic feels even though I'd never read it before... maybe I felt a bit like I did while reading the hunger games... Idk, it's hard to place.

Some fans have speculated about The Maze Runner 4 movie because of the success of the franchise. But, the creatives behind the films took a hard line about ending the series following the Death Cure. The Maze Runner, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure are all now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV’sTeen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.However, the book starts to go downhill from there because connecting emotionally with this book is difficult. First, it was so confusing! There are three different storylines, barely or not at all overlapping, all written so differently as if they all belong in a different book. NO SPOILERS, but Alexandra's storyline made the least sense; nothing happened in each part and the reader wasn't given a shred of context for all these new concepts and terms introduced (not even introduced) with her. I dreaded Alexandra's parts. By the end, none of it made sense! I thought by the end everything would come together but it didn't. I guess there's going to be more books in the series but God I hope not, this was was terrible. In The Scorch Trials, the Gladers are forced into another test – to journey 100 miles across the Scorch, a desert wasteland, with nothing but the blazing sun and Cranks for company. The kids survive a deadly lightning storm, a city full of Cranks, and a horrible betrayal before they once again (but with fewer numbers) make it to safety.

This book was recommended for fans of the Hunger Games series, a series that has become one of my favorites. I began The Maze Runner excitedly, hoping for an equally enjoyable, dystopian adventure.
