About this deal

My view is more middle of the road. Especially when you plant in pots, Chillies definitely need a reasonable amount of fertilizing. Giving them too much fertilizer will harm them. Too little is not good either. You should make sure they get just enough to do well. This is sometimes easier said than done. It is recommended to use GT Chilli Focus at least once a week during active growing seasons like spring and summer. Can GT Chilli Focus be used more than once a week? To get seedlings started it is unnecessary to give them any fertilizer until they have developed their first set of leaves (cotyledons). There’s enough nourishment in seeds to keep the seedlings going to this point. After that, use fertilizer like Chilli Focus at a weak concentration of about 2.5 ml per litre. Do this until the plants get their first true leaves. From there follow the advice of your fertilizer supplier.By using GT Chilli Focus, you can expect faster growth and development, increased root development and strength, profuse vegetative growth, bigger and brighter flowers, greater resistance to disease, and increased tolerance to environmental stress. How frequently should I use GT Chilli Focus on my plants? Chilli Focus is a liquid fertilizer I use to fertilise my Chillies at various stages in their development. I first use it when my seedlings have developed their true leaves. At this point, I pot on the seedlings into two-inch pots. I use my own potting mixturefor potting on. The dosage I use for the seedlings at this stage in their development is 2.5 millilitres per litre of water. This is all the seedlings need, as they are still quite small. In addition to the nutrients Chilli Focus provides, the seedling also absorbs nutrients from the potting mixture. Growth Technology Chilli Focus is for use with potted chilli plants grown in soil whether it be in a pot, in a grow-bag or in open ground. Always shake the bottle well before use. For young, growing plants add up to 5ml/litre of Chilli Focus to your feed water and mix well. For larger plants at the onset of flowering/fruiting increase the dosage to 10ml/litre of feed-water. Feed your plants weekly. Only recommended for Chilli plants/trees. Transfer to a larger pot when the seedlings reach around 10cm in height. Keep the plant moist by watering it well.

Thankfully my eldest son has a natural passion for planting and growing things and was only too pleased to help me out with my ambitious project – to see how many of our own ingredients we could grow. Poor soil or feed. Compost or feed low in essential nutrients (in particular, Nitrogen) can cause leaves to look pale. Re-pot into good quality compost or try a new feed.

Along with the NPK ratios there is a whole list of other nutrients that are used and the way these individual nutrients are created are important to the growth of the plant and ultimately the harvest you get I prefer to provide them a more balanced 2-1-2 solution - often weaker to start with and building up with each feeding
