About this deal

Brut was born nearly 50 years ago. In the meantime, a lot of superb perfumes invaded our universe. But the truth is Brut was always here, around us, as a memento… as a olfactivo–historico–artifact of our unpretentious pleasure to smell something crispier than the fresh pure air. Although this might not be as large of a deciding factor, where you apply your chosen perfumed product can still be important. The range of Brut products sold in the US has been manufactured by Idelle Labs for Helen of Troy since 2003. By steps, and to start with, Brut is possibly- as many from the X generation- a first memory, an imprinting feel hardwired in the collective imaginary. This was the quintessential perfume for male, beloved son of a grand French tradition, conjuring lush undertones as from the bois in the outskirts of Paris (please have a walk in a French Forest and you will understand). Distilled from extracting genial ideas and discernment from Karl Mann, and Cary Grant’s commitment, casted an aura of refinement and became music for the masses, without losing charme - and this as the middle class and the bourgeoisie spirit was well alive in the ‘60es and decades thereafter, and a cologne could have been niche while widely distributed. This is for sure part of the spell. The ladies could immediately identify it as archetypical Fougere male odour, and men use it with confidence as signature- so personal while so well distributed and accessible. I f you prefer to minimize your morning routine and choose a product that gives you good coverage and can function like an aftershave, then the Brut Splash On is your best choice.

However, the amount of fragrance in each of these products is another similarity between the Brut Splash On and Brut Aftershave. 3. The Bottle Design So, for the few of you that haven't smelled Brut, what does it smell like? Well, it's a classic lavender-coumarin fougere, with a spicy middle and coumarin/tonka bean to lend to the sweetness. Kind of soapy and very "barbershop"-like.

Brut Splash-On Lotion Original 200ml

Ingredients (abridged): Alcohol, water, fragrance, propylene glycol (a humectant), menthol, preservative, color Brut was the most popular fragrance for a lot of men of this period as it smelled well but was cost effective, It had particularly good appeal for a part of the world with economic problems among other things. The likes of Davidoff and Aramis would have been seen as a luxury item for a society just getting by financially. From giving it a whirl lately, I can say it still smells pretty much the same although a bit tamer than I remember. Performance wise is about the usual for EDT-concentrations of this age. The splash is very watered down and almost not detecable when splashed on your body but thats my opinion. The green plastic "beer bottle" varieties that are widely available in North America are manufactured by Idelle Labs for Helen of Troy and are available as Original Cologne, Aftershave, and Splash-On. Sometimes it can also be found as limited runs of "Classic" or "Special Reserve" in a 3 oz glass bottle complete with medallion or in a giant 25.6 oz glass bottle. All five versions have different versions of the fragrance formula; the giant bottle follows the original 1964 formula with modern ingredients and the other four are variations on it.

After 10 minutes later from the first spray , the scent faded more soft a bit sweeter there as well from the vanila ı guess that actually kind of soapy clean fresh barber style ı can say . In Europe, the brand is owned by Fabergé (which is in turn owned by Unilever); the bottles are shaped more like a flying squirrel and are available as Original EdT and Aftershave. I have not felt compelled to pay money to try the Euro versions as they are not cheaply obtained in Canada, but I have heard that they are migrating to the North American recipe anyway. Brut classic/original is so versatile and lovable and im gonna wear this big time this upcoming vacation. (splash n stay fresh all day) It's been a long since Brut is not in people taste, so I will grab a bottle and wear it, if someone ask I will say it's something from Amouage or Creed or something really expensive... and if someone really want to know, maybe I'll tell the secret. Of note, during the 80's and 90's Brut was an absolute powerhouse of a scent, even if I just showered with soap/shower gel (i didn't get into using fragrances proper till my 20's) sometimes when I got home my Mum used to say "don't go too mad with the Brut", obviously guys just using it in the changing rooms was enough to leave a trail. Before we get into discussing the differences between these two products, it’s important to know what their similarities are, as it is these similarities that often cause people to confuse them for the same product. Unless you are purchasing outside of the US, the bottle design of both the Brut Aftershave and Brut Splash On is almost identical. I'm glad this company still makes their own version. The Australian Brut versions always did seem to stay truer to the original formulations. French lavender, lime, and a dank green moss, with a strong and clear delicious patchouli and a grassy depth that is a little dark and oily like Jannet El Firadus... A touch of soft chalky powder. I usually wear and enjoy it after a shower in the shiny cool winter evening ,when sky is blue and and the sunlight has turned to orange ,sitting in the open under the sky in solitude, sun is landing in the west and full winter moon is rising from the east, it gives an strange feeling of relaxation and calmness, no rush , no one around . The higher alcohol content together with the propylene glycol in the splash on essentially means that the Brut Splash On is likely to last longer on the skin compared with the Brut Aftershave, which contains less alcohol.

So, the price per ml for Brut Splash On is a fair amount cheaper than the price per ml for Brut Aftershave. Brut Splash On Vs Aftershave: How To Choose If I like the scent of the aftershave, would the plastic bottle cologne version be pretty close to that? A weaker version of the EdT without the overly strong spice and powder dry down? Is it essentially the same thing as the original Brut 33? As fate would have it, today was a rare "all-Brut regimen day." I woke up at 6:30 am, showered, shaved, and slapped Brut aftershave on my shiny cheeks. I then proceeded to hoist my big honkin' 10 ounce can of Brut spray deodorant, and applied liberally under both arms.

Pharmacy product

In a nutshell, Brut Splash On has a higher alcohol content, therefore is likely to have a longer-lasting – though seemingly milder – scent than the aftershave, whereas Brut Aftershave has a stronger initial scent but doesn’t last as long. 3. Price It's smell makes us feel it came from a long gone era ,but it still manages to smell quiet up-to-date compared to any other classics of its era ,and even leaves behind some of the big hits of the 70's & 80's when it comes to timeless-ness.
