Next month sees the release of the next four titles in the Dr. Men book range, celebrating two of the world’s most iconic franchises, Doctor Who and Mr. Men. What can we say about the Daleks that hasn’t already been said many, many times before?! These intergalactic pepperpots have been exterminating the galaxy since 1963, enjoying television adventures with every incarnation of the Doctor so far. Hargreaves aptly captured the essence of the Fifth Doctor's stoicism fairly well. The illustrations are a perfect combination between the Doctor Who and the Mr Men and Little Miss universes. The Fifth Doctor depicted really looks like Peter Davison from the Mr Men and Little Miss universe.
The first four books – Dr. First, Dr. Fourth, Dr. Eleventh and Dr. Twelfth – are available now telling Time Lord stories with illustrations from Adam Hargreaves, son of the Mr Men & Little Miss creator, Roger Hargreaves. As these are figurines there is no articulation although its not really essential on this type of merchandise. Dr. Fifth is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Adam Hargreaves and is a part of the Doctor Who Meets Mr Men and Little Miss series, which tells a story about the Fifth Doctor being trapped by the Master in the most dastardly places on Earth – a supermarket. Trapped with him are his companions Tegan Jovanka, Adric, and Nyssa. Today is National Dr Who/T.A.R.D.I.S. Day (23 November) and I thought it would be apropos to read this today.
