I’m super curious about Sorinda and Kearan, wish there was another book out there I could read more about them, especially Sorinda. I really want a love story for them. As captain of the Ava-Lee , Alosa's utmost duties are to her ship and crew. Throughout the book we see how many times she was willing to sacrifice her life if it was for the well being of her crew- proving that she was definitely worthy of her position. Another thing I really liked was how the author brought Alosa's siren part to life. It was as if the siren was a completely different person and was so interesting to read about. We also got to see how much Alosa struggled with controlling her siren nature which wanted nothing more than for her to live in the sea. It was one of the major plus points of this book.

Each of the three Pirate Lords - the Allemos line, the Kalligan line, and the Serad line - were given a piece of an ancient map that lead to Isla de Canta. (Alosa and her father are descended from the Kalligan line). Her old enemies are now her captives and she feels successful having gathered the pieces of the map leading to the treasure of the Isla de Canta Also, the moments that were supposed to be romantic and bring some angst were so cringy that I had to put the book down and take a break so I wouldn't start screaming in frustration.

OMG so good!!! I love this book <3 Honestly it is probably one of my favorite books this year! As I had mentioned before, I am no fan of the cover. So I ended up just reading getting the ePUB, but man I adore this book so much I might buy a hard copy despite my dislike for the cover. There is also a romance subplot in this series, which I do really like!! 🤩🤩 in the first book, it felt very fun and there was a lot of banter, but there was a little more depth to it in here 🥰 I do really like riden and alosa as a couple 💗💗 HOWEVER, they kept inventing reasons to not be together and had SO MANY arguments & that did get quite annoying 🙈

Much more elaborate and colorful version than the first book, I never expected that it would turn out this good. (*I was expecting a movie script – Thankfully it is not but it could be turned into a movie.) Which means if I’m to keep up appearances, I’ll have to escape the ship. Then get caught on purpose. Oh, the ridiculous things one has to do when one is a pirate. Bottom line: I am Completely Mystified as to how this has a four star average. This is one of the worst fantasy books I’ve read in a looooong time.When we start the book we know little apart from the fact that she is the daughter of the pirate king and getting to know more about her past, however little, was very interesting. Riden - Alosas love interest and partner in crime - was a great character with a beautiful personality. He was kind, loyal and the love he had for Alosa was so sweet. From little Roslyn to Princess Alosa’s first mate - Niridia - the 90% crew is women with their strongest wills to fight any damn situations with any weapons handy! Draxen drops down in front of them. They are going to duel. As much as Alosa hates Draxen, she can’t help thinking of Riden. She asks her dad to let her take Draxen and the rest of his men captive so she can treat them like they treated her. She considers singing to him, but her powers have never worked on her father. She’s not sure why. He actually looks proud about her request and allows it. How did Daughter of the Pirate King end?
